Wednesday Music Series at Capella Tower (Mental Health Awareness Month)

  • Capella Tower 225 S 6th St Minneapolis, Minnesota 55402 United States (map)

Dissonance is excited to partner with the Musicant Group to help fulfill its mission of 'Creating Places Where People Want to Be' with a weekly music series to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. For the first four Wednesdays in May, a free lunch-hour concert will be held in the gorgeous, soaring atrium of the Capella Tower in downtown Minneapolis. Dissonance board members will be on hand to provide informational materials and answer questions. Stop by to enjoy the music, grab some info and—if you feel like it—talk to us about mental health, sobriety and/or general wellbeing for yourself or a loved one. It will be a fun, relaxed highlight to the workday and, for those interested, a casual way to explore conversations and community around well-being. All shows: noon to 1 p.m. Hope you can join us!

Wednesday, May 22 - Dan Israel

Dan Israel is a longtime fixture on the Minneapolis music scene. He was the first guest on 89.3 The Current’s “Local Show” and has been called “the hardest working singer-songwriter in Minnesota.” He won Song of the Year (for “Come to Me”) at the 2005 Minnesota Music Awards and Songwriter of the Year at the 2006 MMAs. He formed Dan Israel and The Cultivators in 1996 and has released 14 critically acclaimed albums. He received a 4-star review from the UK’s “Uncut” magazine for his 2007 album “Turning.” His 14th album—”You're Free”—was released in spring of 2018, and has garnered positive press and widespread radio airplay all over the world. No Depression magazine said the record “solidifies Israel's standing as one of the country's best singer/songwriters working today.”
